War crime suspect held in Cox\\\'s Bazaar

Police at Maheshkhali in Cox's Bazaar have arrested another suspected war criminal following an arrest warrant issued by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), reports bdnews24.com.
Badsha Mia, 75, was arrested from Hariarchharha in Hoanok Union around 10am Friday, Maheshkhali Police Station officer-in-Charge (OC) Didarul Ferdous said.
On Thursday, police arrested Nurul Islam, Osman Gani and Jinnat Ali after the ICT issued arrest warrant for 16.
OC Ferdous said Mia was held following a tip-off.
Mia was the key associate of Moulavi Jakaria and jailed Rashid Mia, a former MP, during the 1971 Liberation War.
The charges against him include those of arson, loot and assault.
The OC said Badsha Mia would be sent to Dhaka in accordance with the tribunal's order.
