Ward-based development given priority: Taposh

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said on Wednesday DSCC is conducting activities with priority on ward- based development, reports BSS.

He said this while inspecting Shampur Truck stand under Kadamtali Police Station in Ward No.58 of the city and visiting roads in Lal Masjid, College Road, Shampur area.

He also said, "We are constructing one interim waste transfer centre and one community centre in each ward."

"Development is being spread all over the DSCC area without accumulating in some specific places. Our target is to provide adequate civic amenities to the people of Dhaka by giving priority to ward -based development, " Taposh added.

Earlier, the DSCC mayor visited Jurain Ekota Market owned by Dhaka South City Corporation in Ward No. 54 and assured the businessmen affected by the road widening work that they would be allotted shops after constructing a new market.

Local MP Syed Abu Hossain Babla, chief executive officer of the corporation ABM Aman Ullah Nuri, Secretary Akramuzzaman, GM Transport, Bipul Chandra Biswas, Chief Revenue Officer Ariful Haque, Councillors of wards 54 and 58 and women councillors of reserved seats accompanied him during his visit.
