A war crimes tribunal sent on Wednesday former additional inspector general of Police (IGP) Oahidul Haque to jail in a case filed for crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, reports UNB.

A two-member bench of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 led by Justice Amir Hossain passed the order when police produced him before the tribunal.

Earlier on Tuesday, Gulshan Police picked up Oahidul Haque from his Baridhara residence following a warrant issued by the ICT on Monday for his arrest.
