Wife of 'missing' BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed has sought a High Court (HC) order upon the government to form a judicial body to investigate the incident and find him, her lawyer said.
Moving her petition before the HC bench comprising Justice Quamrul Islam Siddique and Justice Gobinda Chandra Tagore, Barrister Moudud Ahmed made the prayer.
Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president and BNP chairperson's adviser Khandker Mahbub Hossain also argued for Mr Salahuddin while Additional Attorney General Momtaz Uddin Fakir stood for the government in the court.
Later, the HC adjourned the hearing until today (Thursday), said the lawyer.
Mr Salahuddin Ahmed, a former state minister and BNP lawmaker, has been missing since March 10.
Earlier on March 16, the HC deferred its hearing until April 8 after two consecutive days of hearing on a petition filed by Hasina Ahmed, wife of Mr Salahuddin, seeking whereabouts of her husband.
Following the petition, the HC on March 12 issued a rule upon the government.
Mr Ahmed was picked up, she claimed, by some plain-clothes men acquainting them as members of Detective Branch (DB) of police from a house, owned by their distant relatives, at Uttara in the capital at night on March 10.
