Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presiding over the 15th joint governing body meeting of NDC and DSCSC of the Armed Forces Division at Dhaka Cantonment Wednesday. — BSS Photo Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina said in Parliament Wednesday that as the government was prepared, the loss could not be huge in the 'destructive politics of the BNP-Jamaat alliance in the name of movement', reports UNB.
Replying to a supplementary question of Shamshul Huq Chowdhury (Chittagong-12) during the PM's question-answer hour, Hasina said the then government was prepared to face the 'destructive politics like killing and arson attack' of the BNP-Jamaat in the name of movement. "As a result, the loss was not huge."
She also thanked the voters of the country for voting in favour of the Awami League-led alliance in the last general election.
The Prime Minister said that assuming the office again her government put all its efforts to spur the economic activities of the country to recoup the losses sustained during the BNP-Jamaat movement.
"I want to assure that the government will continue the forward march by recouping all the losses," she said.
Replying to a starred question of Shamsul Huq Chowdhury, Hasina said that to have faster economic growth in the country, the government identified six projects and put them under the 'Fast Track Projects'.
The projects are construction of Padma Multipurpose Bridge, Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Rampal coal-based power plant, Mass Rapid Transit- MRT (Metro Rail Project) development project, construction of Sonadia Dwip Seaport and construction of LNG terminal.
