Yellow panel sweeps CUTA polls

CHITTAGONG, Apr 4: The 'yellow panel' of the Chittagong University Teachers' Association (CUTA) backed by the Awami League and left-leaning parties won all the 11 posts defeating the 'white panel' backed by the BNP-Jamaat alliance.
The elected executive body president is Professor Dr. Md Abul Mansur (president).
The other office bearers include Prof Shyamol Ranjan Chakra-borty (vice president), Associate Professor Dr. Md Hanif Siddiqui (treasurer), Dr. Kazi SM Khosrul Alam Quddusi (general secretary) and Assistant Professor Ohidul Alam (joint secretary).
The six members are Suptikona Majumder, Dr. Md Quamrul Huda, Dr. Farid Uddin Ahmed, Associate Professor Sajib Kumar Ghose, Lecturer Arup Barua and Professor Md Shahidur Rahman.
The elections were held at the university campus from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm on Saturday.
