Youth held with PM\\\'s deformed pictures on DU campus

Police arrested a young man Tuesday night from near Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) on the Dhaka University (DU) campus and recovered from him a pen drive containing some offensive pictures of and remarks about Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Haidar Ali Mijhi alias Mamunur Rahsid alias Mamun, 24, son of Abdus Sattar Mijhi of Purbo Masumpur village in Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur district.

Sub-inspector Subrata Goldar of Shahbagh Police Station said Mamun was detained by police while moving suspiciously in the area around 8:30pm.

While interrogating him in the police station, police found some distorted pictures of the PM and some disparaging comments about her in his pen drive.

Later, a case was filed under the ICT Act and Mamun was shown arrested in the case.
