Youth shot dead in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR, May 2 (UNB): A young man was shot to death by some miscreants at Karaitala under Sadar Upazila Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ripon Hossain, son of Helal Uddin of Baintala village in the Upazila.

The victim's father said Ripon had gone out of the house after getting a phone call at about 1:00 am.

After hearing a gunshot, locals rushed to the spot and found Ripon lying in a pool of blood.

Later, he was rushed to Sadar Hospital where he was referred to Noakhali General Hospital but he died on way.
