Yunus goes to Japan Friday

Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus will leave Dhaka for Japan Friday on a week-long visit at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, reports UNB.
Yunus is expected to meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Foreign Minister Taro Aso and other high officials during his visit.
The Nobel Laureate will present a keynote address, 'Feminisation of Poverty: Causes, Effects and Eradication', at an international symposium titled 'Women and Poverty Eradication' at the United Nations University, Tokyo.
He will also deliver a lecture on 'Peace and Poverty Reduction' at Hiroshima University, said a Japanese Embassy press release Tuesday.
Yunus will attend programmes to be hosted by the presidents of Yomiuri and Nikkei newspapers, and participate in a live programme of NHK Television.
He will also meet journalists at the Japan Press Club and professors of the Kyushu University.
