ZA Khan slams top leaders for failure

June 24, 2007 00:00:00

Top leaders of the BNP are held responsible for its debacle like the captain of a team in a game as they run the party.
"The captain is responsible if there is a debacle of a team in a game and he gets removed…In case of a party, top leaders are held responsible since they run the party. It may be one person or more."
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Adviser ZA Khan made the observation while talking to reporters after meeting party's Secretary General Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Khan was responding to a question whether he blames the BNP chairperson and his family for the postponement of the January 22 elections.
He cited examples of different cricket captains, including Bangladesh's Habibul Basher and Pakistan's Inzamam-ul Haque, who were axed after the failure of their teams.
