Zia created troubles in CHT: Menon


Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon said on Monday BNP founder Ziaur Rahman had created trouble in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) by implementing his infamous plan to make arrival of plain land Bangalee into the region to change its demography, reports UNB.
He came up with the remark when CHT Regional Council Chairman and Jana Sanghati Samity President Jyotirindra Bodipriyo Larma (Santu Larma) paid a courtesy call on him at his Minto Road residence in the city, said a press release.
Kapaeeng Foundation leader Dipayan Khisha was present on the occasion.
The minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had signed the CHT Peace Accord to make a political solution to the problems in the region and the treaty created a new chapter to establish peace and stability in CHT.
He requested Santu Larma to keep trust in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
During the meeting, Santu Larma stressed the need for implementation of the CHT Peace Accord.
