Zikrullah, Ariful, Saiful put on 3-day remand

A Dhaka court placed on Monday detained Zikrullah, Ariful Islam and Saiful on a three-day remand in the blogger Washiqur Rahman Babu killing case, reports UNB.
Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud passed the order after Inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police M Mizanur Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before court seeking a four-day remand for each of them.
Zikrullah and Ariful were earlier put on remand in the case twice while Saiful was taken in custody for the first time.
On March 30, blogger Washiqur Rahman Babu, 26, also an employee of Fareast Travels Ltd, was hacked to death at South Begunbari in the Tejgoan Industrial area in the capital.
Monir Hossain, brother-in-law (husband of sister) of Washiqur, filed a killing case against four people --Zikrullah, Ariful, Abu Taher and Masum --with Tejgaon thana on the night of March 30.
According to police, Zikrullah (20), was a student of Hathazari Madrasah in Chittagong while Ariful (20), a student of Mirpur Section Darul Ulum Madrasah.
The sensational case was transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) of police from Tejgaon Industrial Police Station on March 31.
On March 24, police arrested Saiful from the Jatrabari area in an arms case.
