Acting Awami League president Zillur Rahman condemned Wednesday's incident outside the Dhanmondi party office terming it 'unfortunate' and saying that it was orchestrated to create confusion in the party, reports UNB.
Some disgruntled and unknown people staged the incident while some party leaders entered and left the party office, he said during a press briefing at his Gulshan residence Thursday afternoon.
Zillur said inquiry would be conducted and disciplinary action taken if there is any person from the party found involved in it.
"Any conflict only weakens a party. All Awami League members will have to be alert and united against such conspiracy."
Despite having a difficult time and some misunderstandings, the party is united on the question of freeing Sheikh Hasina, he said.
