The 2nd death anniversary of former president Zillur Rahman was observed on Friday, reports UNB.
Ruling Awami League, its associate bodies and different socio-cultural organisations placed wreaths at his grave at Banani on the occasion.
AL presidium member Sahara Khatun, its joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak and office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Jubo League chairman Omar Faruk Chowdhury and Bangladesh Chhatra League president HM Badiuzzaman Sohag were, among other leaders of the party and its affiliate bodies, present at the programme.
Family members of the country's 19th president, Zillur Rahman, also visited his grave and offered prayers there.
On March 20, 2013, Zillur Rahman died at Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital at the age of 84. Zillur Rahman served as the president from February 12, 2009 till his death.
