Communications Minister Obaidul Quader told parliament on Sunday that he and his ministry have been working tirelessly to address the problems in the countrywide road network and there is no lack of sincerity, reports UNB.
"We've been working relentlessly, and there's no lack of sincerity among us," he said while responding to criticisms and concerns from some MPs during their statements on the cut-motion proposals against the allocation for the Roads Division in the Appropriation Bill 2014.
Quader said it would not be wise to evaluate his performance in just two and half years of time when he assumed office in a crisis time, rather the country's people could judge his performance.
In this connection, he said, "Some people work for money….but, I work hard because I love my work."
The minister also listed the government's initiatives to implement the Padma Bridge Project, MRT, BRT and Karnaphhuli tunnel to improve the overall communication network.
Mentioning that there was no such hassle for the homebound and capital-bound passengers during the month of Ramadan in his tenure, especially during the Eid festivals, Quader said measures will be there in place this time so that the homebound and capital-bound passengers could make safe and hassle-free journey in the upcoming Eid and Ramadan.
