KUSHTIA, Sept 26 (BSS): Ruling Awami League (AL) joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, MP, said here as the present government believes in democracy, free of media and freedom of expression, anybody could come up even with its bitter criticism.
"How anybody could come up with scathing remarks and bitter criticism of the government in television talk shows if the present government doesn't believe in the freedom of expression?" he posed a question.
Conveying his experience while he was watching Thursday talk show on Banglavision (TV), Hanif said the BNP leaders could come up with bitter criticism of the present government's activities as it believes in freedom of expression and a free media.
The AL leader said this while talking to journalists at Kushtia General Hospital where he went to see ailing NTV reporter Faruque Ahmed Pinu Friday.
