‘Govt firm to create employment’

State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu said Saturday the government is committed to creating employment by making skilled and transforming population into human resources, reports BSS.
"Lacking of experience in the private sector is the main problem for economic development in the country," he said while inaugurating a workshop as the chief guest at a city hotel.
National Skilled Development Council (NSDC) organised the workshop 'Industries-Responsive: A Roadmap for Development' in collaboration with British Council with its Chief Executive ABM Khorshedul Alam in the chair.
The workshop was also addressed, among others, by labour and employment secretary Mikail Shipar, British High Commissioner in Dhaka Robert W Gibson and representative of British Council.
"We have to strengthen the skilled management development for expediting national development," Chunnu said.
He said all the planning and projects of the present government are based on employment generating and the government has undertaken various effective projects aimed at reaching the goal.
