Awami League (AL) Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said Friday BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia should quit from the party's helm as she is 'responsible for reducing the party to its present weak condition', reports UNB.

"It is none but Khaleda Zia who is responsible for the present weak condition of BNP. So, Khaleda Zia should resign from the party's leadership," Dr Mahmud made the remarks while addressing a discussion arranged by the Dhaka City Unit of Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) Friday.

He said: "BNP has no capacity to wage movement… its deadline for waging movement has already expired."
