‘Mawa launch terminal to be relocated to Simulia’

MUNSHIGANJ, Jul 19 (BSS): Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said Saturday Mawa launch terminal will be relocated to Simulia within next three months.

After visiting the Mawa launch terminal, he said this while talking to journalists. Chief engineer of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Mozibur Rahman and senior officials of the ministry, among others, were present on the occasion.

A total of 17 ferries are moving on Mawa-Kawrakandi route everyday, he said adding repair works of another ferry named Birshrestha Jahangir are going on and it will join other active ferries within two or three days.

Shajahan asked officials concerned to work with sincerity and honesty to ensure smooth movement of ferries for hassle-free journey of homebound passengers during the Eid-ul-Fitr.
