RANGPUR, Feb 8 (BSS): The Bengali nation will continue honouring the language movement veterans all the time for their unparallel contribution towards achieving independence through the War of Liberation, speakers said Saturday.
They were addressing a ceremony, organised by the authority of Panchagarh pourashava for unveiling the plaque for naming a road after the name of noted language movement veteran Md, Abdul Kader in Panchagarh town this afternoon.
Mayor of Panchagarh municipality Md Tauhidul Islam unveiled the plaque of the newly named road from Sonali Bank Office to Masjidpara area as the 'Language Veteran Md Abdul Kader Road' in the ceremony as the chief guest.
Presided over by Councillor of Panchagarh pourashava Majedur Rahman Chowdhury, former upazila chairman Ashraful Islam, former union chairman Some Ali, pourashava Councillor Shafikul Islam addressed the ceremony as the special guests.
The Councillors, officials and employees of Panchagarh pourashava, educationists, civil society members, professionals and elite of the sub-Himalayan town attended the ceremony.
