Ruling out disbanding the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said Tuesday the government has no intention to dismantle the elite force as suggested by Human Rights Watch (HRW) or any others.
"RAB is a government force and the government will decide who will be kept in operation or disbanded. I think nobody should give unnecessary and unwanted advice," said the state minister while talking to BSS at his secretariat office on the day.
Kamal passed the remarks against the backdrop of a call to Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina by HRW for, what it said, 'disbanding Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)' as it believed the elite force is "beyond reform."
