An abandoned warehouse in Sunamganj

There is a government warehouse at Golokpur Bazar in Dharampasha Upazila of Sunamganj that has remained abandoned for a long time. Due to prolonged neglect, the building has become dilapidated. In its present condition, the premises have turned into a breeding ground for poisonous insects, mosquitoes and flies, creating serious health hazards for the people living nearby.

What is more unfortunate is that with minimal renovation, this warehouse could easily be made usable again. There are many poor farmers in this area who lack safe and proper facilities to store their crops. Even after harvesting, they regularly incur losses because of inadequate storage arrangements. If the warehouse were renovated and brought back into use, it would greatly benefit local farmers and at the same time protect a valuable government property from further deterioration.
