FE planning editor Kibria among 30 awarded Golden Silk Road BD Media Award

Some 30 journalists from different print and electronic media outlets received the Golden Silk Road Bangladesh Media Award.
The award-giving ceremony took place at Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka on Wednesday evening. Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen delivered the ceremonial address at the event.
The journalists were awarded in six categories for focusing on various dimensions of Bangladesh-China relations and China's advancement in economy, technology, tourism, sports and culture.
Asjadul Kibria, planning editor of The Financial Express, is one of three journalists who shared the third place in the economy and technology category.
He received a certificate, a memento and a cheque for Tk 30,000.
Awards are given in five categories: general news, economy and technology, culture and sports, visual reporting, and media innovation.
Under the supervision of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, the co-organisers of the event include: the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh, the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh, and the Apon Friendship Exchange Center.
Joint hosts of the Awards are: Bangladesh China-Apon Media Club; the National Press Club; Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU); Diplomatic Correspondents Association of Bangladesh (DCAB); Economic Reporters Forum (ERF); Bangladesh Sports Press Association; Bangladesh Photojournalist Association; Bangladesh Cine-Journalist Association; Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB); and the Online Editors Alliance.
