Man lynched over theft allegations in Jashore

JASHORE, Jan 16 (UNB): A 35-year-old man was beaten to death by a mob over allegations of theft at Snikantanagar Bazar under Ramnagar Union in Jashore Sadar upazila early Friday.

The deceased is Shamim, son of Chabdu. He was a resident of Baladanga village in Sadar upazila.

According to police, Shamim allegedly broke into a bKash shop owned by Arafat Hossain at around 2:00 am. The shop owner, who had woken up to use the washroom, noticed a person inside the shop through CCTV footage and raised the alarm.
