Total eclipse of moon tomorrow

A total eclipse of the moon will occur on March 3 (Tuesday), according to a release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate reports BSS.

On the day of total lunar eclipse, the moon will spend 58 minutes and 18 seconds fully inside earth's umbra, or the innermost and darkest part of Earth's shadow where the Sun will be completely blocked by Earth.

End of the partial phase of this eclipse will be visible in Bangladesh just after moonrise if the sky remains clear.

The moon will enter penumbra at 02:42 pm (Bangladesh Time) and enter totality at 5:03 pm on March 3 while leave penumbra at 8:24 pm on the day.

The sighting will begin at 6:01 pm in Dhaka, at 6:00 pm in Mymensingh 5:56 pm at Chattogram, 5:54pm at Sylhet division, 5:05 pm at Khulna, 5:01 pm at Barishal, 5:07pm at Rajshahi and 5.04 pm at Rangpur division, the release added.

This eclipse's sighting in the divisional cities of the country starting from 6.01 pm will end at 8:28 pm at Rangpur Division, the ISPR added.
