Sayed Abul Hashem has joined Al-Arafah Islami Bank, one of the country's leading Shariah-based banks, as deputy managing director (DMD) and chief financial officer (CFO). Prior to this, he was working as DMD and CFO at The Premier Bank, according to a press release.
He started his banking career in 2000 as principal officer at Islami Bank Bangladesh. Throughout his professional journey spanning over 26 years, he has held key leadership positions at several top-tier financial institutions, including Shahjalal Islami Bank and Mutual Trust Bank.
In his academic life, Mr. Hashem obtained both his bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Dhaka University. He is a fellow chartered accountant and a fellow cost and management accountant.
