The Kick-off Conference of the Twinning Project titled "Strategic Partnership of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (OCAG), Bangladesh and the Supreme Audit Institution Najwyzsza Izba Kontroli (NIK), Poland" was held at a city hotel recently, says a press release.
The conference was attended by Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Md Nurul Islam, as the chief guest.
The event was also brought together distinguished special guests, including the EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller, Ambassador of Poland to India Piotr Antoni Switalski and Vice-President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) Jacek Kozlowski.
Senior officials from OCAG, representative from SAI Poland, representatives from MDAs, diplomatic missions, development partners, and other relevant organisations participated in the conference.
Md Nurul Islam said, the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh (OCAG) plays an important role in improving public accountability, transparency, and citizens' trust. This partnership will help us further modernise our systems and deepen our audit capabilities in priority areas.
The EU Ambassador commended the launch of the initiative and reaffirmed the EU's commitment to supporting Bangladesh in strengthening public oversight and financial governance. He noted that effective audit institutions are essential for sustainable development.
The Ambassador of Poland to India praised the long-standing cooperation between Bangladesh and Poland. He expressed confidence that the partnership between OCAG and NIK would contribute to professional exchange, institutional development, and stronger bilateral ties.
