Pilot project for smart water meter system launched

The 'Smart Meter System Pilot Project for Smart Water Management (SWM)' was inaugurated at the Buriganga Multipurpose Hall at Dhaka WASA Bhaban on Wednesday. Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives, was present as the chief guest.

The 'Smart Meter System Pilot Project for Smart Water Management (SWM)' was inaugurated at the Buriganga Multipurpose Hall at Dhaka WASA Bhaban on Wednesday, aimed at modernising and ensuring sustainability in urban water management.

Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives, was present as the chief guest while Md Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, Secretary, Local Government Division, and Haejung Kim, Charge d'Affaires, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bangladesh, were present as special guests.

The event was chaired by Md. Abdus Salam Bapary, Managing Director, Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Dhaka WASA), says a press statement.

During the ceremony, a video presentation highlighting the overall activities of Dhaka WASA was screened. This was followed by a technical presentation outlining the key features and implementation aspects of the Smart Meter System Pilot Project. A special technical presentation on the 'Sustainable DMA Management Tool (SDMT)' was also delivered.
