RCCI polls to be held Jan 15

RAJSHAHI, Jan 1: The Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) elections will be held on January 15.

Local traders are now feeling enthusiastic about the biennial polls, as they are eagerly waiting to exercise their franchise.

On Saturday, independent president candidate, Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury Jyoti, who will contest the election with the symbol 'Peacock', said he has been involved with business since 1966. He is also involved with the Bangladesh Petrol Pumps Owners Association, he said.

If he is elected president, he will create an opportunity for the traders to be directly engaged in the government's policy-making process. He also pledged to create a friendly-environment for traders and entrepreneurs.
