Padma Bridge opens

The Padma Bridge was opened to traffic June 25 fulfilling a dream of the nation many people had foretold far-fetched.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 6.15-kilometre bridge that connects 21 southwestern districts through roads and railways with the capital and other areas of Bangladesh.
