18-man squad for Asia Cup hockey named

Bangladesh Hockey Federation Thursday named an 18-member final squad for the Asia Cup Hockey to be held in Chennai in India.
The 10-day meet will begin August 31 instead of September 1 as per the revised fixture.
Eleven teams, split into two groups, will participate in the regional extravaganza. Bangladesh have been placed in strong Group B along with hosts India, Korea, China, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
The Group A comprises Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Bangladesh would compete for the seventh position in the tough competition, Hockey Federation Acting General Secretary Khwaja Rahmatullah told the UNB.
Bangladesh squad: Zahid Hossain, Mahbub Ullah, Shakil, Isa Mia, Mamunur Rahman Chayan, Eyamin Hossain, Shamsuddin Tuhin, Mustafizur Rahman, Imran Hasan Pintu, Tabib-a-Noor, Hasan Mahmud, Shahidullah Titu, Quamrujjaman Rana, Rahul Kanti Roy, Mosharaf Hossain Kuti, Russel Mahmud Jimy, Zahidul Islam Rajan, Zahid Bin Talib Shuvo,Iqbal Nader and Prince.
