Abahani Limited Dhaka registered their sixth victory in the ABG Bangladesh Premier League Football when they came from behind beating Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 2-1 goals in a match held at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Friday, reports BSS.

In the day's match, Brazilian midfielder Jonathan Fernandes and Saint Vincent forward Cornelius Stewart scored one goal each for Abahani Limited while midfielder Mohammad Abdullah netted a lone goal for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.

Mohammad Abdullah gave Sheikh Jamal a deserving lead early in the 8th minute while Jonathan Fernandes restored the parity for Abahani Limited in the 28th minute of the match.

Cornelius sealed the victory scoring the second goal for Abahani Limited in the 45+1st minute of the match.

After the breather, Sheikh Jamal however tried their best to stage a fight back in the match but they could not score any in the remaining proceeding and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hand.

The day's win saw the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited raise their tally to 22 points from 12 matches while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club remained at their previous collection of 15 points playing the same number of matches.

Earlier, in the first leg, Abahani edged past Sheikh Jamal by a solitary goal in a match held at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Ten men Bangladesh Police Football Club earned a hard-fought solitary goal victory over Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in the ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League football held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Friday.

In the day's match, midfielder Syed Shah Quazem Kirmane scored the all-important goal for Police FC in the 23rd minute of the match.

Police were reduced to ten men by the referee when Zillur Rahman was shown red card following his double yellow cards in the match.

With the day's win, Police improved their tally to 17 points from 12 matches while Sheikh Russel remained at their previous collection of 11 points playing the same number of outings.

Earlier, in the first leg, Bangladesh Police FC beat Sheikh Russel by the same identical margin of 1-0 goal held at Bashundhara Kings Arena.
