Abahani Ltd clinched the title of the 3rd Under-18 Football Tournament with 1-0 goal victory against Farashganj Sporting Club in the final at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday, reports UNB.
Forward Rimon scored the match winner in the very 7th minute by a header connecting a rebounder of goalie Sajibul Islam, who fisted the ball to clear off a long throw-in attempt of Abu Bakkar Siddique Babu.
Farashganj spoiled two opportunities to level the margin in the first half as Khorshedur Rahman's close rang shot saved by Abahani goalie in the 32nd minute before Joy Chandra Barman's right footed shot went out edging the post in the 41st minute.
Rimon squandered a chance to double the lead in the 42nd minute as his shot from d-box straight went to the grip of Farashganj goalie.
Enamul got two chances in the very beginning of the 2nd half, but Abahani's goalie Ariful and defenders denied both the attempts.
