Abahani earn 7th consecutive victory beating Police

Mariner crush Sadharan Bima 13-1

Dhaka Ahahani Limited earned its seventh consecutive victory in the 11-team Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League, beating Bangladesh Police SC by 4-2 goals at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the city on Monday, reports UNB.

With the day's victory, Dhaka Abahani not only maintained their all-win record as the lone team in the league but also maintained their top slot intact, securing 21 points from seven straight matches.

Earlier, they outplayed Dilkusha SC by 10-1 goals, Usha KC by 2-1 goals, Azad SC by 10-1 goals, Sadharan Bima KS by 3-0 goals, Victoria SC by 16-0 goals, and Ajax SC by 7-1 goals.

In the day's first match, Rakibul Islam Rocky contributed two, Ashraful Islam and Indian Sheshe Gowad scored one each for the sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani, and Abdul Malek and Ahsan Habib scored for the Police SC.

In the day's other league match, defending champions Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club crushed Sadharan Bima KS by 13-1 goals at the same venue on Monday afternoon.

After the match, Club Cup champions Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club advanced to the 2nd slot in the league table, with Dhaka Mohammedan SC securing 16 points each after playing seven and six matches, respectively.

In the day' second match, Shohanur Rahman Sabuj made a hat-trick, scoring four goals, Indian defender Rajinder Singh also made a hattrick, scoring three goals, another Indian, Ajay Yadav, and captain Fazle Hossian Rabbi scored two each; and Sadaf and Prince Lal Samanta scored one goal each for the Mariners.
