Abahani oust Rahmatganj riding on Emily hat-trick

Riding on a hat-trick by Zahid Hossain Emily, Abahani Limited notched their highest margin victory in the B League crushing Rahmatganj MFS by 7-0 goals in the day's lone second phase match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
After the day's match, Abahani Limited secured 26 points from 13 matches to join the top slot with Mohammedan SC, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC and Sheikh Russel KC, all three playing 14 matches.
With the day's loss, Rahmatganj MFS remained at the bottom of the points table with eight points from 14 outings.
Earlier, in the first phase, Rahmatganj MFS also conceded a narrow 0-1 defeat to Abahani Limited.
In the day's match, striker Zahid Hossain Emily scored four goals for his hat-trick, the sixth of the League while Cameroonian recruit Nchouwat Souleyman and midfielders Abul Hossain and Mehdi Hasan Uzzal scored one goal each for the popular 'sky blue' Dhanmondi outfit.
Emily became the fifth B League player to score hat-trick after Alfaz Ahmed (Muktijoddha SKC), Mwachukwu Paul Macjames (Mohammedan SC - double hat-trick), Elijah Obagbemiro Junior (Brothers Union - two hattricks) and Emeka Christina (Mohammedan SC).
Souleyman opened the account for the winners in the 22nd minute by a close range angular shot after a one to one with medio Abul inside the D box (1-0).
Uzzal then netted the second goal for the title contenders in the 36th minute when his left flank corner kick found the net deflecting opponent defender Abayomi's Felix's head (2-0).
Three minutes later, Abul took the tally to 3-0 by a rebound shot after Emily's attempt at goal returned to play hitting opponent custodian Mohammad Anwarul (3-0).
After a comfortable 3-0 lead in the first half, national forward Emily began to show his mettle scoring his first and the fourth for his side in the 71st minute. His spectacular right- footed angular from the right side of the danger zone after he dodged past two opponent defenders found the net (4-0).
An unmarked Emily netted his second goal, the fifth for Abahani Limited, in the 75th minute with a diving header from around the penalty spot capitalising on a free kick by substitute Abdullah Parvez (5-0).
The talented striker completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute with a simple tap from the top of the small box (6-0) utilizing a right side Uzzal minus, fed by Abdullah Parvez with a brilliant lob from the midfield.
Emily increased the woes of Rahmatganj MFS scoring his fourth goal, the seventh for Abahani Limited, in the injury time of the second half by a placing shot from the left side of the D-box after receiving a lob from Mintu (7-0).
Rahmatganj MFS had the lone formidable chance for a consolation goal in the day's one-sided affair in the 67th minute, but Felix header off a right flank Jahangir Patwary corner narrowly missed the net.
