Academy 361 for all in 1st innings against NT Strike

A century from Dhiman Ghosh put visiting GP-BCB Academy team closing in on another victory as they posted 361 for all in 82.5 overs in the first innings against Northern Territory Strike on the 2nd day of the four-day match at the University Ground in Darwin Tuesday, reports UNB.
Overnight batsman Dhiman resumed batting on 78 and added another 73 to score 151 runs off 195 balls while another overnight batsman Enamul Haque Jr. remained unbeaten on 41 playing 76 balls giving the Academy side a comfortable 265-run 1st innings lead over the hosts.
Resuming the day with 247 for 8, Dhiman and Enamul batted brilliantly to enable the touring side to cross the 350 mark.
Lawrence and Kroger claimed four wickets each for 60 and 96 runs respectively.
Trailing by 265 runs in the 1st innings, the NT Strike were struggling to avoid innings defeat as they scored 252 runs for 6 wickets in 74 overs in the 2nd innings at stumps on the 2nd day, still needing another 13 runs to avoid innings defeat.
Scollary scored innings highest 67 not out off 148 balls while Birrel remained unbeaten with 18 runs off 58 balls.
Besides, McCann's 54 off 72 balls, Page 35 off 73 balls and Lever's run-a-ball 31 helped the hosts to put some runs on the board in the 2nd innings after being all out for paltry 96 in the 1st innings.
Nayeem Islam, Nazmul Hossain, Mahbubul Alam Robin, Enamul Haque Jr, skipper Mehrab Hossain Jr. and Mosharraf Hossain Rubel took one apiece.
Earlier, in a one-day match of the Crocodile Cup, the Academy team earned a 50-run victory over NT Strike.
