Academy team beat Rajshahi Div

Rajshahi Division conceded consecutive defeats as they lost the second one-day National League practice match by 20 runs to GP-BCB National Cricket Academy team at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium (RDVS) Sunday, reports UNB.
Sent in to bat first, the Academy team piled up 242 runs for eight wickets in the allocated 50 overs with the help of three half centuries from Rakibul Hasan, Marshal Ayub and Dhiman Ghose.
Rakibul topscored 75 off 108 balls that featured six fours and a six while number five Marshal contributed 66 runs off 86 balls, including eight fours.
Wicketkeeper-cum-batsman Dhiman hammered 62 runs facing 50 balls featuring seven fours and two sixes while Mahbubul Alam remained unbeaten on 14.
Nayeem Islam claimed three wickets for 28 runs in 6 overs while Suhrawardy Shuvo bagged two at the cost of 67 runs.
In response, Rajshahi Division were forced to fold their innings at 222 runs in 48.1 overs with left-hand opener Junayed Siddique contributing team highest 49 off 60 balls that included seven fours.
Number five Anisur Rahman 42, top order Rabiul Islam 30, Nayeem Islam 24, Delwar Hossain 20, skipper Khaled Mashud Pilot 17 tried their best, but failed to reach the target.
Marshal Ayub was the pick among the Academy bowlers scalping three wickets for 34 runs in seven overs while Nabil Samad and Mosharraf Hossain Rubel took two wickets each.
Earlier on Saturday, GP-BCB National Cricket Academy team handed a four-wicket defeat to Rajshahi Division at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
