Academy team suffers 83-run defeat against New South Wales

Bangladesh National Cricket Academy team suffered an 83-run defeat in their 2nd one-day match of the Institute Challenge Competition against New South Wales at Palmerston in Australia Tuesday, reports UNB.
Sent into bat first, New South Wales posted 240 for 8 in the allocated 40 overs with Moises topscoring 90 runs off 83 balls and Craig contributing 2nd highest 42 runs.
Pacer Nazmul Hossain claimed three wickets for 26 runs while Mahbubul Alam Robin took two wickets for 63 runs.
Replying to a stiff total, Academy team were all out for 157 in 32.5 overs.
Wicket keeper Saghir Hossain Pavel contributed team highest 31 runs off 48 balls, Imrul Kayes scored 28 runs off 41 balls while Shuvo made 26, Nayeem 20 and Zahurul 17.
Earlier, Monday, the Academy team made a good start to their Australia tour winning the first one-day match by 10 runs against Western Australia at Marrara Cricket Ground 2.
The tourists will meet Queensland Academy of Sports in the 3rd match on Aug 30 at Kahlin and the Australian Cricket Academy team in the 4th match on Aug 31 at Marrara Cricket Ground 1.
Then in the Crocodile Cup, the Academy team will play a three-day match against Tasmania on September 2-4 at the University Ground while they will play the 5th and last one-day match against Northern Territory Strike at the Marrara Cricket Ground on Sept 7.
The National Cricket Academy team will round off their tour with a four-day fixture against Northern Territory Strike at the University Ground on Sept 10-13.
