AFC U-16 Women\\\'s Championship Qualifiers to begin Wednesday

The AFC Under-16 Women's Champion ship 2015 Qualifiers will begin on October 15 at the Banga bandhu National Stadium in the city with hosts Bangladesh aiming to reach the 2nd round as group runners-up, reports UNB.
Bangladesh has been placed in Group B of the Asian U-16 eves meet with Jordan, UAE, Iran and India. After the group matches, two top teams will qualify for the 2nd round. Channel 9 will telecast live all the matches.
United Arab Emirates (UAE) will take on Islamic Republic of Iran in the opening match at 3:00 pm while hosts Bangladesh will face Jordan in the other opening day fixture at 6:00 pm.
In the remaining group matches, Bangladesh will face UAE on October 17, India on October 19 and Iran on October 23, all at the BNS.
Addressing a press conference at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House Sunday, Bangladesh U-16 women's coach Golam Rabbani Chhotan said: "We'll fight to reach the second round of the meet as the group runners-up.
"Earlier we used to lose psychologically even before the start of the tournament, but this time we're morally strong enough to beat our opponents," he added.
Captain Monika Chakma said: "We'll go all out to reach our target without giving any chance to our rivals."
Meanwhile, Jordan football team arrived in the capital on Saturday while the other three teams-India, UAE and Iran-are due to arrive Monday.
BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag disclosed the details at a press conference. BFF Women's Wing deputy chairperson and head of tournament committee Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, coach Golam Rabbani, captain Monika Chakma, and Tanvir Khan of Channel 9, KFC area manager Charles Mithun, Amber Group director Akhteruzzaman - representing the co-sponsors - also spoke on the occasion.
