Afghanistan Under-19 cricket team clinched the five-match one-day series title by 3-1 margin after a 33-run win in the 5th and last match against hosts Bangladesh Under-19 team at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Friday, reports UNB.
Chasing a target of 240 runs in the day's match, Bangladesh finished at 206/10 in 48.2 overs where number-4 batsman Towhid Hridly was a notable scorer hammering 93 off 108 balls, including 10 boundaries and two sixes.
Towhid was caught by man of the match Darwaish Abdul off Rasool Tariq Stanikzai on Bangladesh's final collection.
Wafadar Momand captured four wickets for 52 runs while Qais Ahmad Kamawal bagged three for 35 runs and Mujeeb ur Rahman took two wickets for 24 runs, each bowlers delivered 10-over apiece. Batting first after winning the toss, Afghanistan scored 239/6 in 50 overs spurred with the two half centuries by opening batsman Ibrahim Zadran (83 off 107b; 8x4; 2x6) and Darwaish Abdul Rasool (75 off 47b; 1x4; 8x6). Nayeem Hasan bagged two wickets for 38 runs while Afif Hossain, Hasan Mahmud and Saif Hasan took one wicket each for Bangladesh.
