Ahmedabad likely to host WC opening ceremony on October 4

The much-anticipated inauguration of the upcoming World Cup is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on October 04, setting the stage for the opening clash between England and New Zealand the following day, reports Cricbuzz.

While the exact venue for this grand event remains shrouded in anticipation, the prevailing expectation is that it will unfold at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. This iconic stadium not only holds the honour of hosting the opening match on October 05 but also the final on November 19.

The members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), members of the executive board of the global cricket governing body, and representatives of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be present on the occasion.
