A four-wicket haul by Al Amin enabled BCB X1 to restrict touring Afghanistan X1 for 242 for 6 on the first-day of the two-day practice match at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday, reports UNB.
Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first and made a good start scoring 131 runs in the opening stand, featuring fifties by two openers-Ihsanullah scored 62 and Ibrahim Zadran posted 52.
Both of them were retired hurt to pave the way for the other batsmen to hone up their skills ahead of the one-off Test against Bangladesh starting from September 05 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city of Chattogram.
Nurul Hasan Sohan-led BCB XI got the first wicket when Sumon Khan removed Javed Ahmadi for three while he bagged his wicket as well removing Mohammad Nabi (33). Sumon grabbed two wickets conceding 21 runs.
But before that, part-time off spin bowler Al Amin scalped four wickets for 51 runs removing Rahmat Shah (7), Hashmatullah Shahidi (26), Asghar Afghan (16) and Ikram Alikhil (1).
Afghanistan will resume their innings today (Monday).
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Test team reached Chattogram on Sunday evening.
Before going to the port city, the Tigers had a 10-day practice camp in Mirpur under the newly-appointed head coach Russell Domingo.
