LONDON, June 28 (AFP): Wimbledon's American golden age of Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe looked like ancient history Friday when the unknown Bobby Reynolds retreated to the shadows.
His 6-4, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 third round defeat to Spain's Feliciano Lopez meant all 11 American men who started in the main draw at the 2008 Wimbledon had been knocked out even before the end of the first week.
