Ansar & VDP notched an emphatic 152-run victory over Kalabagan Krira Chakra in a match of the 5th National Women's Club Cricket League at Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium here Sunday, reports UNB.
Batting first after winning the toss, Ansar & VDP scored 283 runs for 7 wickets in stipulated 40 overs.
After the early fall of two top order players for 17 in 2.2 overs, opener Shahnaz Parvin pairing with skipper Panna Ghosh contributed 189 runs in 27 overs in the third wicket stand, before Shahnaz was bowled by Boby Saha leaving team total at 206/3 in 29.2 overs.
Shahnaz scored 89 runs off 84 balls with 14 fours.
Skipper Panna scored 88 runs off 94 balls with 11 fours and later took three wickets for 16 runs to be adjudged player of the match.
Number seven Sharifa Khatun added unbeaten 41 runs off 26 balls with six fours and a six.
Boby Saha grabbed three wickets for 39 runs while Lily Rani took two wickets for 56 runs.
Chasing 288 runs, Kalabagan KC were all out for 131 runs in 35.4 overs.
Rozina Aktar scored team highest 41 runs while skipper Ayesha Akter (24) and Rani Khatun (not out 10) were the other notable scorers for Kalabagan KC.
Fatema Khatun Smriti claimed six wickets for 13 runs.
In the day's other two matches, Abahani Ltd beat Gulshan Youth Club by 100 runs at BKSP ground-4 in Savar and Rayer Bazar Athletic Club defeated Indira Road Krira Chakra by 51 runs at BKSP ground-3 in Savar.
