Arambagh bow down to Brothers Union

Brothers Union Club registered an emphatic 3-0 win over Arambagh KS in the day's lone return match of the B League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
With this, the all-orange Gopibagh outfit improved their position securing 22 points while Arambagh KS remained at previous 16 points, both playing 13 matches.
Earlier, in the first leg, Brothers Union Club defeated Arambagh KS by 3-1 goals.
In the day's match, Monowar Hossain, substitute Mehedi Hasan Tapu and Nigerian Elijah Obagbemiro Junior scored one goal each for the winners. All the goals came in the second half.
Monowar opened the Brothers Union account in the 56th minute with an angular shot from inside the danger zone utilising close through pass by Faisal Mahmud from the top of the D-box (1-0).
Two minutes later, Tapu doubled the winners' margin by a right-footer from inside the D-box after dodging past custodian Sainik off a Rony long-pass from midfield (2-0).
Junior completed the Brothers Union tally in the 71st minute with a placing shot form the danger zone after dodging past custodian Sainik after fed by a close range pass from skipper Masud Rana (3-0).
Earlier, in the injury time, Brothers Union Club launched two attacks but opponent custodian Sainik foiled both the attempts.
On the other hand, Arambagh KS got two real chances on the entire proceeding, but failed to convert any of them into goals.
Arambagh KS got the first opportunity in the 51st minute, but Nurul Islam failed to score despite an open net.
Nurul Islam must consider him unlucky as his close range shot before the open net narrowly missed the target in the 63rd minute.
