Lowly Arambagh KS stunned formidable Muktijoddha Sangsad KC beating them by 1-0 goal in their opening 2nd leg match of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Wednesday, reports UNB. With the day's 2nd victory in their 9th league encounters, relegation-bound Arambagh KS improved their position in the league table securing six points while Muktijoddha SKC remained at 14 points, also playing nine matches. Sabuj Kumar Biswas scored the match-winning goal for Arambagh KS in the 23rd minute by a good header, utilising a cross of Khaled Ahmed (1-0). Earlier, Muktijoddha SKC made their first attack in the 19th minute as their Brazilian Tyson Silva curved a free kick from the top of the box but Arambagh goalie Mitul Hasan dived to his left to block the ball. Muktijoddha SKC again failed to make the equalizer in the 75th minute when Nigerian defender Benjamin Eleta failed to place an Emmanuel Dammy free kick in the net from a close range. In the stoppage time, Dammy of Muktijoddha SKC shot over the crosspiece from the middle of the box to leave the field with 3rd defeat in the league.
