Army Golf Club emerge champions

Army Golf Club emerged champions and Ghatail Golf Club finished runners-up in the team event of the two-day Inter-Club Golf Tournament that concluded at the Kurmitola Golf Course in the city Thursday, reports UNB.

Zaki Ahmed of Kurmitola Golf Club clinched the men's individual title while Lt Col Ahsan Aziz of Ghatail Golf Club became runner-up in the event.

In the women's individual event, Sifat Yousuf of Bhatiary Golf and Country Club emerged champion while Afia Sarker of Kurmitola Golf Club was placed second.

Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) Maj Gen Mizanur Rahman Khan, also the Area Commander, Logistic Area, Dhaka, was present at the closing function as chief guest and distributed prizes.

Senior Vice President of Army Golf Club Maj Gen M Mashud Razzak, BGF secretary general Brig Gen M Amin Akbar, Tournament Director Brig Gen (rtd) Abidur Reza Khan, BGF joint secretary Col (rtd) Sardar Hasan Kabir and Executive Officer of Kurmitola Golf Club Lt Col (rtd) M Tozammel Haque were also present on the occasion.

In all, ten golf clubs of the country took part in the two-day tournament, organised under the supervision of Bangladesh Golf Federation.
