Asian U-14 Tennis tourney begins today

The Prime Bank Asian Under-14 Tennis Tournament, organised by Bangladesh Tennis Federation, began at the Ramna National Tennis Complex Wednesday with five Bangladeshi boys winning the first round (singles) matches, reports UNB.
They are Raisul Islam, Ranjit Passi, U Shew Shew, Hasibul Huq and Hussain Jubair.
The other first round boys' singles winners are Raghuvanshi Sourav, Lakhotia Raghav, Kishore Arnav, Thakkar Rakshay, Goghari Ashman and Bishit Ronit of India, Khurram Faizan (Pakistan) and Nguyen Thien (Vietnam).
In the girls' singles, local girl Alam Sarda won her first round match while Bal Namita, Malik Arzoo, Hegde Riddhi and VKC Vishesh (India) were the other first round winners.
Earlier, in the morning, Youth and Sports Adviser Tapan Chowdhury formally inaugurated the meet as chief guest while Prime Bank chairman Azam J Chowdhury was present as special guest.
Bangladesh Tennis Federation president AMM Nasir Uddin, general secretary Mohammad Sanaul Huq, tournament director Ahmed Ziaur Rahman and high officials of sponsors Prime Bank were also present on the occasion.
Forty-one players from seven countries, including 18 from hosts Bangladesh, are taking part in the boys' and girls' singles and doubles events.
The seven participating countries are Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Japan, Myanmar and host Bangladesh.
