An all-round performance by Raihan Kabir Mithu guided Badda Ekota Samaj Kalyan Sangha to a comfortable 70-run victory over Dhanmondi Progati Sangha in the Metropolis Second Division Cricket League at the City Club ground Wednesday, reports UNB.
Sent in to bat first in curtailed 42-over-a-side match due to foggy weather, Badda Ekota Sangha scored 248 for 5 in 42 overs with Mithu contributing not out 127 off 131 balls that featured 12 fours and five sixes.
In reply, Dhanmondi Progati Sangha were all out for 178 in 40.5 overs with Zahid making 49. Mithu, who earlier hit a ton, grabbed four wickets for 23 runs in his 9-over spell.
In the day's other matches, Rayer Bazar AC (212/9 in 40 overs) beat Kakrail Boys (182/10 in 38.2 overs) by 30 runs at BKSP ground in Savar while Prantik KC (151/10 in 39.5 overs) defeated Nabin Sangha (139/10 in 39.4 overs) by 12 runs at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium.
