Bagerhat emerge zonal champions

Hosts Bagerhat District clinched the zonal title to reach the final round of the KFC National Women's Football (Super League) thrashing Narail District by huge 8-0 goals in zonal final at the Bagerhat Stadium Wednesday, reports UNB.

They joined the eight-team final round of the national eves soccer meet to be held at Jessore Stadium.

The other seven teams which reached the final round are: Ansar & VDP Team (Defending Champions), Jessore District (Hosts of Final Round), Rangpur District (Dinajpur Venue Champion), Mymensingh District (Rajshahi Venue Champion), Narayanganj District (Luxmipur Venue Champion), Team BJMC (Dhaka Venue Champion) and Kushtia District (Kushtia Venue Champion).

In the day's final of Bagerhat zone, Rizia made a hat-trick scoring five goals, Mirona struck twice and Mita scored one goal for the winners.

Deputy Commissioner Bagerhat District M Sukur Ali witnessed the day's zonal final as the chief guest.
